What it is
Non-surgical spinal decompression uses a specialized table to apply gentle, cyclic traction to the spine. It is not a substitute for every back complaint, and it is not offered as a package before we know whether it is appropriate for you.
The Hill DT system
Integra uses the Hill DT decompression table in the clinic — the actual unit patients see in the treatment room, not a stock photo of generic traction.
Who it may be appropriate for
May be appropriate for patients with disc injury or radiating symptoms, based on evaluation. For some patients, recurring low back pain is related to disc compression or nerve irritation rather than muscle tension alone.
Who it is not appropriate for
Decompression is not automatic. Integra determines candidacy after the Integra First Visit: consultation, examination, and imaging when clinically indicated. If decompression is not a fit, we will say so and discuss other options or a referral.
What a session feels like
Decompression is gentle. The table works slowly and in cycles rather than pulling, and most patients find it relaxing. A lot of people fall asleep during their session.
